EXTREMADURA

All-inclusive offers for enthusiastic fishermen at the Extremadura Lakes.
Unique – idyllic – individual

Our offers

From Helechosa in the spanish Extremadura, Olivier offers you to come over and spend a pleasant stay including fishing tours, where you will be surrounded by a warm and friendly atmosphere.

The fishes

As a new arrival in Extremadura waters, the pikeperch (zander) is now very present. The most suitable times for its catch are March to April and September to October, albeit its capture can be carried out the whole year round.

The pike: Even though suffering from the appearance of the pikeperch, the recent spawning seasons suggest its comeback in force. Specimens exceeding a metre of size can be caught with regularity. For fishing with hard lures January to April are most appropriate, for soft lures and other techniques all the rest of the year is fine.

The black bass:
The sports fish par excellence, which can be caught all throughout the year. Preferred seasons March to April and September to October.

The barbel:
Several different species of barbel are to be found here. A common point is, they may be caught by lure, particularly during summer time. In autumn an additional endemic fish, the Iberian Barbel (barbo comizo), begins to populate the lakes here. That one can well reach up to 15 kilograms.

The Lakes

The lake Cijara: In the heart of the local hunting reserve, with wild and diverse landscapes, the lake covers more than 6500 hectares. Surrounded by mediterranean forests and pine groves, the sunsets there are breathtaking!
Populated by pike, pikeperch, black bass and barbel, this lake leaves no one indifferent.

The Garcia Sola Reservoir:
Directly below Cijara begins the lake of Garcia Sola, which covers 3500 hectares. With one part more wooded than the other, here the black stork has often been observed feeding on small fish. Numerous vultures regularly hover above the cliffs.
Pikeperch (zander), black bass, pike, barbel.

La Serena Lake:
The largest lake in Spain with almost 14,000 hectares. On arrival at the launch site, the lunar landscape is surprising. But once on the water, a multitude of dead trees makes fishing interesting, especially for barbel with lures or flies. Very large pike are also present there.

Lake Orellana:
The best known of all, but also the most fished. 5000 hectares with a more common landscape than the others.

“The Table”

In the evenings the meals will be taken at the guest table with Lee, on the terrace if weather permits so. Here, over a drink, shared stories and talk will bring further pleasant moments.
Lee will afford you the enjoyment of varied dishes and barbecues over slow fire.
Of course you can as well have a glass at the bars of the village, enjoy some of the tapas, and meet the local people. The people here are very welcoming and will readily socialize with you.
